To celebrate her graduation from Nursing school, Catherine wanted the family to spend the holidays in Switzerland. We were overdue for a trip, as our previous planned trip was derailed by an injury, so the timing was great.
I’ll confess that the above photo from Zermatt is not one of mine. I don’t think skiing would get along with my bones so we didn’t travel there. However, Josh, Katie, Cat, Mitch, and Lilo all did and provided us with beautiful photos.
For this trip, we found an accessible Air BNB in the village of Niedergösgen – located near Aarau, and therefore roughly equidistant to Zurich and Basel. We used that as our base of operations for most of the trip. It is a very charming village, and the couple we rented the Air BnB from were equally charming and helpful, so a really a great trip.
I’m going to publish this page now, with apologies, as I haven’t written any of the posts yet, but will get to work on that. Fortunately, I had a journal with me and one of my favorite fountain pens, so was able to journal briefly most days, and these journal entries will basically comprise the blog posts.
